National Organisation for the Certification of Qualifications (Ε.Ο.Π.Π.)

It is a tool for the classification of qualifications in terms of knowledge, skills and competences that are acquired by people on completion of a learning process.

Who benefits?

• Learners and employees, who wish to change educational path, or vocation, or move between the countries.
• Providers of education and training.
• Employers.

What is the goal?

So far, in Greece there was no unified validation and accreditation system for qualifications that would include all forms of education, training and vocational experience. The aim of the Hellenic Qualifications Framework is to establish in our country a modern and effective validation and accreditation system for qualifications of the country’s human resources.

What does it offer?

Facilitation of access and participation to lifelong learning.
• Opportunity for vocational development.

• Mobility increase of trainees and employees.

• Lifelong learning support, through the interconnection of all types of formal, non formal and informal learning.

• Reinforcement of qualifications’ transparency and their connection to employment.

• Validation and accreditation of informal learning.

• Rationalisation and assurance of the quality of the recognition and accreditation system.

What does it not offer?

The Hellenic Qualifications Framework does not award qualifications; it classifies qualifications in terms of learning outcomes.
• The Hellenic Qualifications Framework does not award vocational rights.
